- Process and order efficiently new subscriptions from the many hundreds of Publishers.
- Offer a choice of whether subscriptions are annual basis or more than a year. Chances are to avail good discount if subscription is more than one year.
- Provide accurate invoices, knowing the Libraries’ special requirements, which is something the publishers might not be able to do for libraries who deal direct.
- Produce catalogues and price quotations.
- Respond effectively to claims for missing issues and other queries. Also Provide advance information about delays in publication, title changes, etc.
- Arrange for sample copies to be sent.
- Pay publishers in time to avoid delay in the supply.
- Work as Librarian’s helping hand by taking on much of the workload, particularly at renewal time.
- Supply of back issues.
- Establish good relationships with publishers and familiar with their individual working methods.
